AFTER a memorable performance of School Of Rock in the West End, students at Burnt Mill Academy are lining up to audition for the schools very own rendition.
The school’s version of the monumental stage production is tipped to be the biggest and best yet. Director of performing arts at the Burnt Mill Academy Trust, Cristin Casey, said: “Having taken students to see the show in London, there was a huge buzz around auditioning for our school production. Every student in the school was given the opportunity to audition for a part. The show will feature lots of acting,, music and our schools band.”
A second audition had to be held at the school due to popular demand. A total of 150 students tried out for parts, even many students on the coach home from the West End production tried their chances.
Cristin Casey also continued by saying: “We are celebrating the legacy of rock music-making that has gone on through the years at Burnt Mill.”
Burnt Mill Academy is famous for its new music venue ‘Club Foot’ named after Indie band Kasabians 2004 smash hit. The band has not only seen performances from Kasabian, but also punk legends Eddie and the Hot Rods, Comedy pub landlord Al Murray and Rockney duo Chas and Dave.
