HARLOW College’s Performing Arts students treated their audience to a journey through the past 70 years of music and drama.
The Glass Box Theatre was packed with students, teachers and even the principal of Harlow College, Karen Spencer. The cast of seven gave the audience a joyful, excitement-filled spectacular through the past 70 years, from the 1950s to the current date including a mixture of plays, musical performances and monologues.
Featuring performances from Jack Baillie, Vanessa Carvalho Grilo, Skye Hannigan, Ellie Osbourne, Rianna Samuels, Maddison Silverman and Daniel Stubbings, the show featured hit songs from each decade, which got the audience on their feet, singing and dancing.
Everyone who was involved in the show was new to the college environment and showed extraordinary skills and confidence despite having only attended for short period of time.
Mrs Karen Spencer stated, ‘I enjoyed the show. It was a fantastic way to end a Friday afternoon.’
Laura Wedgbury-Glew, Academy Manager at Harlow College, commented, ‘It was an incredible performance especially because there was just seven of them.’
Natalie Francis, Performing Arts tutor, commented, ‘All students have come along way since the beginning of the term and have learnt how to perform in a small group, whilst dealing with any anxiety issues. Some have never even performed on stage before, so they have done very well as their first project together. I’m looking forward to their next projects.’
