STARS of The Only Way Is Essex will ‘meet and greet’ fans at a Harlow pie and mash shop later this month.
James ‘Lockie’ Lock, Dan Edgar, Pete Wicks and a surprise celebrity will be visiting the Cockney Waffle Pie & Mash shop, located in Perry Road on December 16 from 1.30pm until 3.30pm.
Brentwood’s Sugarhut DJ, DJ Sebadee, will also be there spinning some Christmas tunes as part of the event.
Shop owner, Jo Morgan, 52 – originally from West Ham – opened the Cockney Waffle 10 months ago and received 59,000 hits on Facebook before the shop had opened. She previously owned Lils Pie and Mash four years ago, before moving abroad.
Now she’s back with a brand new pie and mash eatery. The name Cockney Waffle has a double-meaning with ‘waffle’ denoting talk/chat or actual waffles, which the shop also sells.
Mrs Morgan’s son-in-law owns All Star Entertainment who represents a lot of the TOWIE cast. She was thrilled when he was able to book the TOWIE hunks for her event.
Mrs Morgan said: ‘I’m really excited to have the TOWIE lads coming down, and there will also be another surprise celebrity coming. I just wanted to give something back to Essex and put the pie and mash shop on the map.
‘The shop is quite hidden so we have to work hard to promote it – we are very active on social media.’
The event is free and welcomes all ages. Father Christmas will be there giving out small presents to the children.
The TOWIE hunks who will undoubtedly be mobbed by adoring female fans, will enjoy a free pie and mash meal and even receive a gold card from Jo, meaning they can come back any time for some cockney grub and special service.
Mrs Morgan will be holding more events in the future and will soon be offering vegetarian and gluten-free pies. The shop also sells jellied eels, sausage & mash and peas & gravy and seafood, along with sweet waffles and traditional British desserts.
