THE PLAYHOUSE is a hub for new and up-and-coming musical talent.
Working alongside the BBC, the Playhouse presents ‘BBC Introducing’ every couple of months, with the latest on Tuesday November 7.
Well known acts, including The 1975, Two Door Cinema Club, and Hertfordshire superstar George Ezra have all taken part within ‘BBC Introducing’. Jake Bugg and The Ting Tings have credited ‘BBC Introducing’ with bringing them to the attention of the UK public.
With such an incredible history of producing musical talent, having the BBC shows so close to home is an incredible feat and Harlow Playhouse is providing the stage, which will hopefully launch the careers of future stars.
Bands also get an opportunity to perform on Saturday nights from 8pm on BBC Radio Essex hosted by Ollie Winiberg. ‘BBC Introducing’ accepts any musical genres, rock, pop-punk, rap, classical, indie and many more.
Digital and Audience Development Assistant Dan Powell spoke about his enthusiasm for ‘BBC Introducing’ and said: ‘It’s great for young acts.’
The Playhouse has a capacity of 409 people, and will provide a great starting point for young talent.
