Police appeal for witnesses following sexual assault

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a secondary school girl was sexually assaulted in Harlow on November 2.

The assault is believed to have happened next to the garage area in Little Brays, off Tillwicks Road at around 3.45pm. A man is said to have approached the girl, before pulling her towards the nearby garages where she was allegedly sexually assaulted. The victim screamed and was able to run away.

Two nearby witnesses heard her scream and ran to help before the police were called.

The police are searching for a man who fits the following description of white, around 5ft8, medium build and in his mid to late 20s.

Detective Sergeant, Neale Parker, from Harlow CID, stated, ‘We are in the early stages of this investigation and working hard to understand the circumstances which lead to the attack.’

DS Parker continued, ‘Additional patrols by the Community Policing Team are in place and house-to-house enquires have been conducted. Various lines of enquiry are being pursued. This appears to be an isolated incident and don’t wish to cause undue worry. We are updating local schools.’
