WITH the Christmas period quickly approaching, a little bit of the spirit has landed in Harlow’s Pets’ Corner.
Santa’s reindeers have come to town in the form of Sparkle (3 years old), Twinkle (3 months old), and Harper (4 months old). Although the trio will be staying at Pets Corner for the foreseeable future, you can book reindeer visits from £245 – and maybe see Santa too.
This isn’t the only festive activities you’ll see in the coming months as there’s a Craft Fair on November 12th with stalls and a tombola and a Nativity Play by the Phoenix Theatre School with a guest appearance from Pets Corner’s own donkey.
The most spectacular event of the year, however, is the chance to meet Santa himself. Starting from the middle of December, for £3 or free for under 2’s, you can visit Santa’s Grotto, and come away with a picture, goody bag and chocolate bar.
A veteran Santa himself, Animal Care and Business Enterprise Apprentice, Tommy King (19), describes the event as ‘extremely popular’. Saying that the farm would see 1000 plus people over the Christmas period.
This makes the Friends of Pets’ Corner’s extremely busy, though volunteer, Karen Marsh (58), describes the Santa’s Grotto as ‘well worth it’. Having seen three generations volunteer at the farm, Karen says ‘[we’re] purely here because we’ve all grown up with Pets’ Corner’.
Admission to the farm itself is free, so make your way down soon to enjoy the festive fun.
