Luxe nightclub fate to be decided on May 30

Luxe Nightclub

The Only Way Is Essex hot spot Luxe nightclub in Loughton, Essex has had its licence taken away after six major incidents occurred since December 2016.

The club had its licence suspended on May 5, after a man was stabbed in the chest during a 30-man fight nearby the TOWIE bar.

Epping Forest District Council’s press officer Tom Carne said “A licence is always reviewed when any incident occurs. Evidence is submitted to the council and they will look at each issue individually they don’t focus on events from the past. The council will try to work with the company to find the best solution but this is a difficult situation for the council due to the number of incidents in such a short space of time.”

Council will hold a hearing to decide Luxe fate, said meeting is due to take place on May 30, at 10am. The general public are free to attend.

Carne said “A panel of councillors come to a decision; they act in a way similar to a judge or magistrate as they decide from the evidence presented to them.”

Jordan Dobson contacted a Luxe official asking for a comment but they declined to comment any further.
