You have to be at least 18 years old to register to vote in the UK.
But should younger people be allowed to have their say?
If Conservatives remain in power following the snap election, Theresa May has said that they will not lower the voting age.
The Labour party however, disagrees and claims that 16-year-old’s will be given the chance to vote should the party win.
Chelsey Austin and Willow Jacobs-Harding are both 17 years-old and in their first year at Harlow College studying a BTEC diploma in Journalism.
They both believe that the voting age should be lowered and would allow younger people to have a say about their future.
