A HARLOW resident is fundraising to see how Bidfood’s sustainability scheme has helped those in Malawi.

Emma Denton, 35, is among the fundraisers at the company who help to improve the availability of clean water in the third world country.

“I work for the sustainability team at Bidfood and they work with the One Water foundation who have a vision for everyone in the world to have clean and safe water forever.”

“Bidfood are arranging for a handful of employees to go to Malawi and see what projects Bidfood have been funding.

“As part of the sustainability team I really wanted to go and see the good work that we do.”

Each person has to raise £2000 for his or her trip. Emma still needs to raise £1,400 in order to take the opportunity.

“So far I have raised £800 by holding a bake sale, pyjama day, quiz night and raffle.”

The team will also be lending a hand on the visit.

“Whilst in Malawi I will be seeing and helping with bore holes, water pumps, school feeding and sanitisation.”

The trip is scheduled for September with exact dates to be confirmed.
